Beryl Cook, A Private View

An evening event on Wednesday 10th September

Kara Wilson presents Beryl Cook, A Private View

We’re thrilled to announce a new play celebrating the life and work of the iconic artist Beryl Cook, featuring Kara Wilson as Beryl herself. In this unique performance, Wilson brings the famously private painter to life, capturing the spirit of her vibrant and humorous artwork while she paints in her studio.

Although Beryl Cook’s joyful, larger-than-life paintings are cherished worldwide, much of her personal story remains a mystery. To help bring her story to light, Kara Wilson collaborated closely with Beryl’s son, John Cook, providing audiences with fresh insights into the woman behind the brush.

This play marks Wilson’s fifth production centred on an artist. Her previous works in this distinctive genre have captivated audiences at galleries, auction houses, and theatre’s across Scotland, England, Poland, and New York.
